One of my goals for 2019 is to do more with content and start blogging regularly. I’m excited to share my vision and speak from the heart about my journey.
The first of several upcoming blogs will focus on the key footwear trends of the season, and in particular, the ones that we're most excited about. There’s tremendous excitement happening in footwear right now with tons of new trends emerging. My perspective has always been to focus on the trends that feel both enduring and relatively easy to wear, and that's exactly how I've approached the Spring collection.
This first few installments of the upcoming trend-focused blogs will be on the colors of the season. This season is about bold statement color, and there’s a lot of it, with pink being important once again this Spring (yay!).
The newest news in pink is driven by the pantone color of the year: Living Coral. Pantone cites Living Coral as a color of “carefree happiness” and says that it “symbolizes our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits”. That feeling definitely resonates for me, as I believe people are looking for ways to feel uplifted in today’s landscape.
Anyone who knows me is aware that I love pink, and yes, my wardrobe is filled with tons of pink accessories and clothing. Pale pinks (nudes) have been important for years as a new neutral, and that trend certainly continues into this Spring. But this season, I’m excited about the full spectrum of pink from the palest nude neutrals to bright poppy pinks, and of course, coral.
Bells & Becks will showcase pops of coral this season in very easy silhouettes that make wearing this happy and uplifting color simple. Slip these on with any type of neutral, and you've made your outfit come alive. They also work incredibly well with all the olive and military styling that we're seeing in apparel this Spring.
Pale pinks and "nudes" will continue to be dominant in the collection for Spring as a pretty neutral, and thankfully rose gold continues in importance (I say thankfully because I love metallics and rose gold is my favorite by far).
Hurray for pretty pinks this Spring...
Teaser: Next installment will be all about yellow!
