As cooler temperatures arrive, apparel becomes more serious and dressy, and footwear follows suit. The most defining silhouette of the Fall season is the boot. It’s a full coverage shoe that covers the foot and ankle. Fashion boot shaft heights vary tremendously – everything from ankle booties to over the knee.
This season, Bells & Becks is focused on the bootie. It has everything to do with pant trends… wide leg, capri, novelty plaids, cargo. Even the skinny ankle pant is best worn with a bootie. In recent years, booties are worn with dresses and skirts as the perfect statement in contrasts. Bottom line is that booties are the most versatile Fall silhouette because they "pair" with everything.
Bells & Becks bootie assortment is curated (as we always are) in just the right way with three very different silhouettes to address three very different needs:
The Brava - Mid Heel Cap-Toe Bootie
Super sleek and feminine design, this bootie is our first mid-heel. It is pure sophistication. Mid-heels can be tricky and don’t always look contemporary. In this case, it’s the contrast between what is a classic cap-toe (very Chanel, but more modern because it’s a point) and the chunkier mid-heel for balance. We added even more feminine detail by combining matte and shine with the supple black Italian leather and suede cap-toe and the richest burgundy suede with the patent shine. I love this bootie with both dresses and denim… always versatile, but definitely a dressier point of view.
The Beatricia - Unlined Ankle Bootie
This bootie is more casual than the Brava, but what makes it special is the sleek shape, and that it’s made with unlined leather. The shape is uniquely feminine with a line that is super flattering on the foot. The Italian nappa leather we used for the black is incredibly soft, but as an unlined bootie, it literally feels like a glove that molds to the foot. The buttery softness of the suede is hard to describe in words and best felt in person. What makes the bootie a little different is also the natural stack heel and sole which is a deliberate contrast that softens the silhouette, especially in black.
The Valentina - Side Gore Chelsea Bootie
This is our “heaviest” boot of the season and the one that works best as the weather turns to serious rain and cold. There were many Chelsea booties on the runway this season, but as is always the case with Bells & Becks, we were totally focused on delivering a silhouette that still feels feminine and sleek. The micro-stud detail on the Valentina adds a distinctive element that feminizes what could otherwise be a clunky style. The rounded toe leaves room for a wider foot and a warmer sock. What I especially love is that these booties work great for everyday but can still be dressed up for a super chic look.
The bootie reigns supreme this Fall, and I’m super excited about how our assortment came together. There’s something for everyone, but we’re still completely focused on that perfect combination of distinctive, chic, and wearable with everything that we do.
