Animal Prints: Spotlight on Snake:
Animal prints always work as wearable novelty in both apparel and accessories. This season, we’re seeing an emergence of python along with other “snake” embossed prints. This gives a textural element and adds interest to any shoe. It’s another way to do a neutral that is chic and interesting.
If you know me a little, you probably are aware that I'm a sucker for texture of any kind, and I especially love animal prints. I usually shy away from anything that is considered too "basic". Smooth black leather is fine, for example, but a texture of some sort adds dimension. In my previous blog, I talked about white as a trend color. Smooth white leather always looks a little cheap to me, but again, adding texture or a contrast lifts and amplifies (more on this soon...).
This season, we went after snake prints and embossed snake for texture and dimension. Even our more basic black pointy toe flat, the Giulia gets an upgrade in a textured snake print with a gold heel.
Python print (black and white) is an easy way to add sophistication and a kind of neutral pop. We love it in flats and sandals this season (stay tuned, as you'll likely be seeing it in boots for Fall).
Colored snake is also important. It's a super bold statement in footwear, so we took a bit of a different tactic here and went for it in a bright metallic yellow that is a new looking gold for the season. Yowza!
Bottom line, snake or some kind of animal print/texture is a must this season, and Bells & Becks has got you covered!
