Don't be afraid of white!!!
We saw the emergence of white in a big way in 2018 – especially with the surprisingly unexpected white bootie trend. I will admit that I didn’t personally play in this trend as it felt too “faddish” to me. That said, white for Spring is much more natural. White is a classic color, but what’s new is the idea that it can be worn year round and not just from Memorial Day to Labor Day. White was all over the runways for Spring and showed up in some expected (pumps) and unexpected (white booties) way.
I’ve personally always struggled with white shoes, because if they aren’t done well, they tend to look cheap. This season, I was thoughtful about how to introduce white in an elevated and sophisticated way. We’ve introduced texture, crinkle patent, and woven leather as well as a slight contract color to break up the lines of the shoe and ensure that they are luxury all the way.
My personal favorite is our take on a slingback with touch a touch of burnt siena in the edging to add dimension. The Luna is one of my favorite shoes in the Spring/Summer collection.
White sandals are a mainstay.
You’ll see that our white shoes all have something distinctive about them, because that’s what Bells & Becks is all about!
