FRESH FOR FALL
What is a better feeling than that first cool day where you break out your new Fall booties and jacket? This year, mine are the new Elena booties in Snake, the must-have texture of the season. I am taking advantage of the beautiful weather in the Bay Area by visiting inspiring museum exhibits, making cozy cocktails, and taking mini-breaks in a location that is not only meaningful for our family, but healing as well.
Wishing you all a lovely start to Fall!

What I’m cooking: Recipes from Good Things
I’ve been a fan of Bay Area chef Samin Nosrat since her bestselling first cookbook, Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, and I’m eagerly awaiting her new cookbook Good Things (out September 16th!). It promises simple, nourishing dishes that bring people together—I can't wait to make her roast chicken with saffron.
What I’m watching: The Morning Show’s fourth season
I'm counting down to September 17th when the new season of The Morning Show drops! Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon are at the top of their game in this iconic series about the drama and complexities of a morning news show—I can’t wait to see what topics they tackle next.
What I’m seeing: Paul McCartney’s photography exhibit
Lucky for me, the Paul McCartney photography exhibit at the De Young Museum in San Francisco has been extended into the Fall! Paul McCartney took the photos himself on his Pentax camera and just unearthed them about five years ago—the exhibit features over 250 photos from December 1963 and February 1964, right at the peak of Beatlemania.
Where I’m traveling: Calistoga, CA
With its mineral hot springs and relaxed small town charm, Calistoga is my favorite spot for a mini-break. My husband’s family has been coming here for over 30 years, since before it became such a popular wellness destination. Fall is by far my favorite time in wine country, and the thermal water and pools offer some much-needed healing.
What I’m drinking: A Campfire Mule
Is this not the most appealing seasonal drink? With its roasted marshmallow top, the Campfire Mule also reminds me of one of my favorite recent adventures: my husband and I ran the Wharf to Wharf race in Santa Cruz, and indulged in artisanal ice cream from the Penny Ice Creamery—they make an absolutely delicious marshmallow fluff from scratch and use a blowtorch to toast it as a topping!
What I’m wearing: The Elena bootie in Snake
Snake print was all over the Fall 2025 runways, and with good reason—it’s the perfect neutral that adds instant sophistication to any outfit. Unlike other animal prints, snake print has this luxurious, architectural quality that elevates everything from jeans to dresses. The Elena bootie has become my go-to for the season, and takes me effortlessly from day meetings to dinner parties.
